Cornerstone is an online training platform that allows City employees to request, take, and track the progress of various training courses, whether they are mandatory or for personal development. Trainings offered on Cornerstone include Mandatory and Non-mandatory courses that are always being added, so be sure to check in frequently. Courses may be assigned to employees, or employees can browse courses via the catalog. Enjoy Your Training!

If you are a DWP employee, Library employee, or LAPD Sworn, your department has a different LMS portal for you to take training. Contact your HR group or pertraining@lacity.org for more information. 

logging on

  1. Log onto https://lacity.csod.com
  2. Use the following credentials*:
    Username: Employee ID#
    Default Password: [CurrentYear]Cornerstone! (ex: 2023Cornerstone!)
    *For LAPD, your username is LAPD followed by your serial number (ex:LAPDN2345)
Systems Requirements

Finding Training

  1. Once logged in, select the "Browse for Training" icon.
  2. Select the training you want to take.
  3. Select the "Launch" button.

Another window will open with the training course you selected. You can now view and complete your course!

viewing records

  1. Once logged in, select the "Transcript" icon.
  2. To view in-progress courses, select "Active" from the drop-down near the top left.
  3. To view completed course, select "Completed" from the drop-down near the top left.
  4. To view certificates for completed courses, select "View Certificate" next to the course title.
